I'm working on setting up a remote office, there'll be 5 users and a printer.
They all have VPN capabilities on their laptops. However, if they VPN, they'll loose the ability to print to their local network printer.
This would be a tiny office, so there won't be a server put in place. Just a router, network printer and that's it.
Are there ways I can have an always on connection to the DC using a hardware (not server) of some kind?
Also, the internet connection comes and go here, I would like it to automatically connects back to the domain if it fall off the network.

If your budget has the $$ I would connect your remote office to the main office (DC location) via VPN appliances. I have done this in the past with SonicWall appliances, however there are many reputable brands that peform the same functions.

I agree with Bill on this. Does the router have any sort of vpn capabilities? I've done a site to site vpn with watchguard firebox's before with no problems. What about an open source vpn solution like OpenVPN?
